Over recent years, mobile devices have drastically changed the way people communicate and make purchasing decisions.
Instead of using a mobile device to make a phone call, people can surf the Internet and check their email from the touch of a screen. In fact, it’s predicted that by 2017 there will be 10 billion mobile connected devices.
Mobile devices are quickly outgrowing the number of people in the world. With more than half mobile devices being smartphones, the mobile market is soon to dominate common communication practices. If businesses and marketers don’t catch onto this trend soon, they’ll miss out on a huge opportunity to reach more customers.
As mobile usage continues to increase, mobile traffic has also continued to increase. According to the infographic, 51 percent of all mobile traffic was video and 90 percent of all tweets are from a mobile device. Clearly, mobile is changing the way people consume media and has enabled people to receive information at the tips of their fingers.

In addition, 56 percent of mobile users say being able to use a mobile device makes their shopping experience more enjoyable.
For businesses who are yet to adopt mobile strategies, they’re missing out on a huge opportunity to reach more customers. The infographic says that 78 to 84 percent of people rely on social networks when researching products. In addition, three out of five mobile users pay attention to mobile ads when visiting social media websites.
These are just a few of the different ways the mobile market is dominating communication, social media, and the overall shopping experience.
